Here are some pages from my self-publishing venture: A Biblical tale of David and Goliath "The Fallen"

All pages were initially penciled and then embellished with black ink using both technical pen and brush.

Enjoy:

Here, Goliath issues a challenge to the Hebrew Army while the Captain ponders  the dilemma and asks, "Who can stop this monster"?...

As if on cue, we turn to David tending sheep...

Things are looking ugly for David...

But with a singular deft move, David mounts the enormous beast and delivers the deciding blow...

The tranquil lines in this piece makes it my favorite composition as David carries his charge to safety...

David rides a donkey to the Hebrew camp to feed the army and to connect with his brothers...

After having been mocked  by his own brothers for insisting that he can defeat Goliath, David does the unthinkable and approaches the Phillistine camp by crossing the stream of water that separates the two camps...

Upon arriving, David is ridiculed further by the most motley of crews...

I was inspired by Michelangelo's "David" and emulated its posture in this particular drawing. The intensity of David's stare portrays that moment of decision; a moment of no turning back no matter the consequences...

Like a runaway freight train, Goliath charges (Note the low horizon perspective lines converging on David)...

Cerrrrack! David deals a blow that rocks Goliath's skull like a dinner bell...

David's triumphant day...

Interior shot of deCaire's Thor found in the Mighty Thor Annual #19

Three tear sheets of deCaire's interior illustrations found in Werewolf the Apocalypse: Children of Gaia.

I am particulary fond of the last panel on this second page. I felt it to be my most expressive and "artistic" pose ala comics.

I really like the tree in this shot. My brush was moving as if it had a life of its own and in seconds, voila! A tree! If only the figures came that easy...sigh...
